Aggressive Defense against All Traffic Tickets

At my Abington, Pennsylvania traffic defense firm, I represent people facing all types of traffic charges, including:

  • Reckless driving
  • Careless driving
  • Speeding
  • Driving on a suspended or revoked license
  • Improper passing
  • Failure to stop for a school bus or emergency vehicle
  • Failure to yield
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) or drugs
  • Underage drinking and driving (DWI)

Think It's Not Serious? Think Again.

Pennsylvania's DMV operates on a point system. Each traffic offense has a point value. Too many offenses, or too serious a traffic violation, and those points add up to large fines, a suspended driver's license, and jail time. Even a speeding ticket can be costly. The faster you were going, the more points you get on your driving record. Every point adds dollars to the fine you face. Points on your license can also result in increased auto insurance rates.

Caught driving on a suspended license? You face fines and further suspension of your license. If that suspension was for drunk driving you face a mandatory jail sentence of at least 60 days. If you're drunk driving on a suspended license, the penalties are much higher, including potentially thousands of dollars in fines and mandatory jail time.

Defense against Traffic Tickets

Traffic cops have rules and regulations they must follow. An experienced traffic ticket defense attorney knows the rules and when they have or haven't been followed. Failure to follow the rules can lead to your traffic charges being dismissed or reduced to lesser charges or not-guilty verdicts. In other cases, it may be possible for me to negotiate with the police officer to have your charges reduced to something that carries fewer points or no points and therefore won't affect your auto insurance.

3 Deadly Sins if you are stopped for a traffic violation such as speeding, red light, stop sign, passing a school bus, etc.

First. Don't make the officer "chase" you. Pull over as soon as safely possible.

Second. Don't make any strange movements, like reaching under a seat or even into your glove box. Police officers don't like this and it makes them nervous. Keep you hands where he/she can see them, preferably on top of the steering wheel.

Third. Don't argue with the officer. And DO NOT under any circumstances say," I pay your salary." First of all, it isn't true and second, it is insulting and arrogant. No matter what, be polite! Yes sir and no sir are best. Ultimately the officer may be wrong in his/her judgment in pulling you over. But at this point in time, there is no purpose to argue. You won't win. Unnecessarily aggravating the officer will make my job much more difficult when it comes time to represent you and approach the officer to ask if he will change the ticket to an offense that does not carry points on your driving record.

Over the years, I have had great success in negotiating with police officers on behalf of my clients for violation of the PA Vehicle Code where speeding tickets, stop light and stop sign tickets, passing a school bus, failure to yield violations, to name a few. And this has worked with State Troopers as well as officers from Abington, Willow Grove, Hatboro, Cheltenham, Jenkintown, Ambler, Elkins Park, Horsham, Huntingdon Valley, Souderton, Lansdale, Blue Bell, Whitpain, Rockledge, Bryn Athyn, Springfield, Upper Dublin, Whitemarsh, and other municipalities in Montgomery County and Bucks County
