For Your DUI Defense, Choose Experience

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can have a huge impact on all parts of your life.

If you have been arrested for drunk driving, contact an attorney immediately. Your license and freedom are at stake. If you act quickly, there may be a chance to save your driving privileges and protect your future.

DUI charges will be filed against drivers over age 21 whose blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08 or higher. For drivers under 21, the threshold is only .02, a very small amount of alcohol. Drunk driving in Pennsylvania can be referred to in a number of ways:

  • DUI: Driving under the influence
  • DWI: Driving while impaired
  • DAI: Driving after imbibing
  • OUI: Operating under the influence

Drunk driving is an offense that carries significant penalties. Heavy fines and extended jail terms are possible in some cases, particularly if you have another DUI in your past, classifying you as a repeat offender. Penalties increase if you were driving with a minor in your vehicle and/or if your intoxication level was extremely high.

Driving under the influence of drugs is the same legal statute as driving under the influence of alcohol. Even if you had only one drink, if you have other medications in your system that together impaired your ability to drive, you could face DWI or DUI charges. It does not matter whether it's a controlled substance, like marijuana, or a valid prescription drug.
