Pennsylvania police say drunk driving arrests up over holidays

Holiday parties provide friends and families an opportunity to relax and enjoy timeout from all of the pressures that come with every day life. However, if one chooses to indulge in a few alcoholic beverages, there is the possibility of later facing a drunk driving charge. Pennsylvania police recently announced the total numbers of arrests that were made over the recent holidays.

An off-duty firefighter in Bethlehem is facing charges that may end his career. The Pennsylvania rescue worker stands charged with drunk driving as well as fleeing police and weapons possession. His arrest came on the heels of reports from concerned family that the man was mentally unwell and could pose a danger to himself. 

Pennsylvania mayor faces drunk driving charges

The long-time mayor of Upland Borough is facing serious criminal charges, according to local sources. Mayor Michael Ciach of the Pennsylvania borough has been charged with drunk driving in connection with an accident the morning of Nov. 18. He also faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident. No court date has been set as of this report. 

Pennsylvania man accused of DUI after police chase

A 26-year-old man is facing serious charges after apparently leading police on a devastating chase through Lower Makefield on the afternoon of Oct. 11. Pennsylvania police managed to apprehend the man after he collided with another vehicle, ending the chase. He now stands charged with DUI, receiving stolen property and reckless endangerment. 

Former Pennsylvania football player charged with DUI

A former football player has been charged with a serious crime, according to local news sources. Jon Witman, a 44-year-old former fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, is facing a DUI charge for a Feb. 4 accident. While no one was injured in the crash, Pennsylvania authorities claim he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. 

Pennsylvania teacher facing DUI charges

A language arts teacher in Drums has been arrested following an accident police believe was caused by drunk driving. The woman has been accused by Pennsylvania police of DUI after an accident involving a motorcyclist. So far, it is unclear whether the woman has retained counsel, but her court date should be upcoming.

Pennsylvania woman charged with drunk driving after accident

A woman who was rescued from a fiery accident by bystanders is now facing serious charges, according to police sources. The Pennsylvania woman is being charged with drunk driving after she allegedly drove her vehicle into a parked car. She is currently still in the hospital recovering from injuries she sustained in the crash. 

Man in Pennsylvania charged with drunk driving

A man is facing serious charges for his alleged role in a fatal accident that claimed the life of one man and seriously injured his wife on July 30, according to local sources. A 42-year-old man lost his life, and his 41-year-old wife is in critical condition. Pennsylvania police arrested the 32-year-old man and have charged him with drunk driving, as well as vehicular homicide and several other charges. 

Man in Pennsylvania charged with drunk driving

A man from Lehigh County is facing serious charges after a car accident police say may have been the result of intoxication. Pennsylvania State Police arrested the 25-year-old man following a crash that claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman who was a passenger in his vehicle. The man has been charged with drunk driving, manslaughter and reckless endangerment for his alleged role in this tragic accident.
